The Omer

Counting of the Omer  Sefirat Ha’omer

"And you shall count for yourselves from the day after the Sabbath... Count fifty days to the day after the 7th Sabbath; then you shall offer a new grain offering to the Lord." Leviticus 23:15-16

"But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Spirit is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth." Acts 1:8

"And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them." Acts 2 1-3

"And you shall count for yourselves from the morrow of the Sabbath, from the day on which you bring the Omer offering, seven complete weeks they shall be; until the morrow of the seventh week, you shall count fifty days... And you shall proclaim that very day a holy festival" Leviticus 23:15-21

Upon sitting down to prepare a newsletter to go out a previous Shabbat ( March 31, 2018) I opened my site www.songsofleslieann.com to listen to the music and a song that I had further down in the list came on instead of the one I had set to begin.

I thought to myself, "How did that happen?"  And then right away I heard in my spirit-

"It is the beginning of the Counting of the Omer from the day after the Sabbath to Shavuoth/Pentecost/Feast of Weeks."

And then I realized the song that was now MIRACULOUSLY playing at the onset even though it is scheduled later in the lineup is the PSALM 67 song which is the Psalm that is sung or read  every day of the Counting of the Omer!  Oh my!  Wow!

Heavenly Father is so good to us in reminding us and leading us so gently in the truth!  When we give Him first place then He leads us for the pure in heat shall see Him.  HalleluYHWH!

This is one of the Miraculous blessings that I wanted to share with you that just happened as the Counting of the Omer began!

The other blessing happened while in prayer today on this Feast of Firstfruits that we remember the Resurrection of our dear Messiah who is the Firstfruits from those who sleep.  While in prayer I heard in my spirit to "proclaim this day as this most holy day."  I thought about the Feast Day of Yom Teruah/Day of Trumpets and Yom Kippur/Day Of Atonement as being very holy and they are very holy; but, since I heard to say it in my spirit I spoke it. Instantly upon speaking it I realized why I was led to speak it out loud in prayer.  This Day of Resurrection/Firstfruits is so very important to the foundation and Blessed Hope of our Salvation!  Paul wrote that if it weren't for the Resurrection then our faith in the Messiah would mean nothing.  So, yes, this most holy day we Honor You Father and Thank You For Your Beloved Son Yahshua HaMashiach Zsidchanu!

1 Corinthians 15:14 And if Messiah be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain.

I say to you that many will come from the east and the west, and will take their places AT THE FEAST with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven.  Matthew 8:11

Thus saith YHWH of hosts; Turn ye unto me, saith YHWH of hosts, and I will turn unto you, saith YHWH of hosts. Zechariah 1:3

Even from the days of your fathers ye are gone away from mine ordinances, and have not kept [them]. Return unto me, and I will return unto you, saith YHWH of hosts. But ye said, Wherein shall we return? Malachi 3:7
And I will give them an heart to know me, that I am YHWH and they shall be my people, and I will be their Elohay: for they shall return unto me with their whole heart.  Jeremiah 24:7

PS.  The picture of the beautiful orange Tiger Lily at the top of the page was drawn and given to me by my oldest son Joshua.  Upon giving it to me he said to me, "This tiger lily repesents your beautiful humility."  The Scripture says, "Her children arise and call her blessed."  Proverbs 31:28 I am blessed indeed.  :)   If you are raising young children or influencing children in some way and your heart is after the tender heart of YHWH then you too will know this blessing.  Don't give up! The orange in the Tiger Lily above represents VICTORY!

This reminds me of a third Miracle that happened on Passover one year. A neighbor had given us a dying Tiger Lily plant that she thought maybe we could rescue.  That was a year ago or so.  On Passover that year I looked to where I planted the Tiger Lily next to the house and it BLOOMED into a beautiful and bright red flower! I thought how amazing the sudden blooming of this beautiful Tiger Lily on this Passover Day with the crimson red color reminding us of Messiah Yahshua and his blood that ran for us.

I encourage a time of fasting and praying as Ruach HaQodesh/The Holy Spirit leads because this is important.  I was fasting from 2-6pm the day previous to Passover for the unborn and then fasting the morning prior to the evening Passover began due to the common fasting of the firstborn at that time.   YHWH blesses when we set aside time to fast and pray in accordance with His will.  It is after fasting and praying that I have recognized significant spiritual growth in my life wherein scales have come off my eyes and ears allowing me to understand His ways that Messiah taught.   Bless you in His Name for His Love Endures Forever!

"Every time a person receives Yeshua the Messiah as his own Savior, he spiritually experiences Passover (Pesach).    He is to flee Egypt (the world's evil system and ways) and trust (emunah) in the Messiah, the Lamb of God, and allow Yeshua to be the doorpost of his heart.  As believers, we are then to seek to live holy lives before God and experience Unleavened Bread (Hag HaMatzah).  Just as Yeshua arose from the dead, we are to consider our former ways dead to us and experience the newness of life in the Messiah.

When we do this, we can be immersed (baptized) in the Holy Spirit (Ruach Hakodesh) and have the power of God (the anointing) in our lives.

At that time, God will begin to take us on a spiritual journey through the wilderness of life.  In the process of experiencing life's bitter disappointments and struggles, if we keep our eyes upon God, He will take us from Passover (Pesach) to Shavuot (Pentecost) where He will reveal His ways and His Word, the Bible, in a deeper and progressive way By keeping our eyes on the Messiah through life's struggles, God will not only reveal His Word, the Bible, to us in a greater way, but He also will refine our faith like fine flour just as was done to the wheat.

If we put our entire trust (emunah) in Yeshua through our spiritual journey in the wilderness of life as God refines our faith and reveals Himself to us in a greater way, our spiritual journey will not end in the wilderness of life.

God will take us forward to spiritually experience the fall festivals and our spiritual promised land.

We will all be keeping the biblical calendar in the Messiah's Kingdom makes it clear that keeping the calendar is part of kingdom living.

In that day, all mankind will keep the seventh-day, biblical Sabbath and God’s Feasts.

When we sit down to eat with the Master, the only menu options will be kosher.

The final great move of God with His people is recorded in Revelation 14:12.  It reads “Here is the patience of the saints, who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus (Yeshua)”
